Femigrants Foundation brought together more than eighty immigrant entrepreneurs, business owners and professional leaders to celebrate diversity and inclusion and discuss the impact of immigrants on the US economics and culture. The event celebrated the achievements of a diverse group of immigrant women leaders, providing them with a platform to share their stories. The evening encouraged networking between female immigrant entrepreneurs and also aimed to provide the support needed to become a woman leader.
The challenges of a female immigrant life are many and unique to each generation. The evening saw spirited discussions on the topics of diversity, acceptance and building community partnerships. Coming from diverse backgrounds and familiar with the many challenges of being a female immigrant, the speakers provided useful tips on topics such as, finding investors , expanding one’s professional network and learning from challenges .
The Keynote speaker for the evening was Beate Chelette, International Award-Winning Author of “Happy Woman, Happy World” and Founder and CEO of The Women’s Code.
Panelists Heidi Yu, CEO & Founder, Boostinsider and BOOSTO, Elena Krasnoperova, CEO and Founder, Calroo; Limited partner/Investor in 500 Startups and Kwanua Robinson, Owner of PowerPlay SF , took part in an invigorating discussion on how to be your own boss. Other panelists for the evening , were Aygun Suleyman, Product Marketing Director, Salesforce & Board Member,Giovanni Fnu, Technical Strategist at Pinterest.Lavanya Poreddy, Program Manager at Facebook and Vivian Po, Communications Director, City and County of San Francisco.
They shared their own experiences and showed the path to own one’s career in the Silicon Valley . The speakers who contributed to the evening were female entrepreneurs and leaders from top tech companies of the Silicon Valley, who have achieved success and continue to raise the bar every day for the female immigrant community.
